Next Council Meeting: June 15, 2023

The RM office will be CLOSED Monday, May 22, 2023 for Victoria Day

After two years away due to COVID 19, the RM of Moose Creek No. 33 held their Annual Texas Scramble Golf Tournament at the Moose Creek Golf Course on July 5, 2022. The day was overcast with just enough wind to keep the mosquitoes at bay. Sixty-nine golfers made up nearly 18 teams of four. A barbeque lunch was held at 12:30pm at the clubhouse, and was sponsored by the Southeast Butcher Block. Tee-off was at 1:45pm. The day was perfect for 9 holes of golf.

This golf tournament is known for having amazing sponsorship, and as such people look forward to the games and prizes.

The RM sponsored a Registration Door Prize consisting of two 3-piece wedge club sets, one right handed and one left handed. Kim Carlson won the left-handed set, and Murray Brown won the right-handed set.

The Bring Back your Ball Contest was sponsored by Chamney Crushing Ltd. The prize was a golf bag and a $250.00 gift card. The challenge was to use the same ball the entire 9 holes without losing it, bring it back, and be entered into this draw. It was won by Jason Frey.

All golfers, men and ladies, had to tee off from the white tee, unless a specific game stated otherwise. Hole #1 was the individual High Score challenge. Golfers had to mark their individual Score, and the highest score amongst each team went into a draw for Two Tickets to the Labour Day Classic in Regina, sponsored by Prairie Road Solutions Engineering. This was won by Kaden Deitz. On Hole #2, all golfers shots were taken with whatever club was pulled from the bucket. Each golfer’s score was marked, and the lowest of each team went into a draw for an Table Top Ice Machine, Polar Water Bottles, and “summer beverages” sponsored by Sentura Freitag Hail Insurance. This prize was won by Melissa Frey. On Hole #3, golfers whose ball went in the water were entered into a prize draw for Four Golf Passes with Cart Rental to White Bear Golf Course sponsored by Precision Ag and won by Jackie Kosier. On Hole #4 golfers used their driver to putt. Dale Potapinski made the farthest putt with a driver and won a camping stove with two yeti cups donated by WellTraxx. On Hole #5, golfers teed off with the intent of getting closest to the Moose that the RM placed on the fairway. Theresa Luedtke won a load of gravel delivered, which was sponsored by the Municipality. Hole #6 was a draw of all golfers. Austin Hewitt won a socket set donated by Nelson Motors, and a magnetic block heater plug donated by Moose Mountain Electric. Hole #7, Ladies Closest to the Pin was won by Lori Valentine. The prize was a golf bag and driving range pass sponsored by Affinity Credit Union. Hole #8 was the individual low score challenge. Golfers marked their individual Score, and the lowest score amongst each team went into a draw for a yeti cooler sponsored by Samson Engineering. Lyle Brown won this challenge. Hole #9 was the Men’s Closest to the Pin challenge. William Brown won a choice of either a service job on tractor or combine up to $500 value, a four hour bailer inspection valued at $600 or a Toro Push Mower, donated by EBorassa and Sons from Carlyle.

There were four door prizes. The first door prize was a Webber table top grill donated by Brandt and was won by Devin Brown. The second door prize was a power tools set, consisting of a DeWalt drill and bit set donated by Shaw Construction and was won by Murray Carnduff. The third door prize was a golf bag and balls donated by Redhead Equipment and was won by Wanda Humphries.
